Nike Air Max is thriving, marking the 25th anniversary of the Air Max Plus while maintaining consistent popularity with classics like the Air Max 1 and Air Max 95. Despite this, Nike’s designers in Beaverton continue to push boundaries with their most revered designs. One standout is the Air Max 90 Drift, set to debut in a vibrant “Action Green” colorway.
In contrast to the Air Max 90 Futura, another reinterpretation of the classic model, the 90 Drift takes a more futuristic approach. It swaps out traditional leather quarter panels for TPU equivalents, enhancing the sporty essence of the original design. The “Action Green” iteration leans into a cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic, especially noticeable in the nylon ribbon that peeks through a translucent grid panel on the toe-box, revealing a striking geometric pattern beneath. The color scheme of red, green, and black also subtly nods to the iconic Air Max 90 “Duck Camo,” paying homage to the shoe’s heritage while embracing a forward-looking style.
Anticipated for release this Fall, the Nike Air Max 90 Drift “Action Green” will retail for $150.
