Over the years, various unofficial versions of Spider Man Dunks have surfaced, but none have made a connection as clear as this upcoming release, designed exclusively for kids.
This newly unveiled Nike Dunk Low Black Spider Man features spiderweb graphics that adorn the grey toe-box and mid-panel, unmistakably nodding to the web-slinger. The bold black leather upper and midsole evoke parallels to the Black Suit, one of Peter Parker’s most iconic costume transformations in history. Completing the ensemble, Dark Grey accents highlight the Swoosh logo and outsole.
It’s important to note that these Dunks are not an official collaboration with the Marvel character, but Nike’s design certainly invites that association. Instead of a white Swoosh, which would overtly reference the symbiote suit, Nike opted for a reflective finish. When hit with light, the logo illuminates white, reminiscent of the actual Black Spider-Man suit.
