The current leading team in Major League Baseball is reaping the rewards of their success, thanks to a joint effort that’s about to come to fruition. On May 22nd, the beloved Philly fanatic mascot will grace the field, delighting hometown fans at Citizens Bank Park with its usual antics and entertainment, all while sporting a unique pair of Dunks tailored for the occasion. Interestingly, Nike plans to exclusively release these shoes in Philadelphia, although it’s worth noting that we caught a glimpse of Phillies Dunks back in 2022.
Crafted in partnership with local boutiques Lapstone & Hammer and Creme, the Nike Dunk Low Philly reflects the resilient, hardworking spirit of the city with its understated grey exterior over a crisp white leather base. Soft suede adorns the heel, while a grey splatter pattern embellishes the forefoot overlays and the iconic Swoosh. However, a vibrant graphic graces the interior, tongue label, and the PHILLY branding on the heel, possibly paying homage to the city’s famous murals. Further nods to Philadelphia come in the form of map coordinates on the laces.
The Nike Dunk Low Philly will make its debut exclusively at select retailers in Philadelphia, starting with its collaborative partners Lapstone & Hammer and Creme on May 30th. A broader release at other Philadelphia-based stores is slated for June 1st, including the Philadelphia Phillies shop at Citizens Bank Park.
