Nike is bringing some serious nostalgia with their “Cult Classics” initiative and the re-release of the Air Max Sunder and Clogposite. They’re clearly inspired by the late ’90s to early 2000s era to inject some fresh energy into their lifestyle line. However, this isn’t just about going retro. Nike is also introducing new styles that capture the Y2K vibe, like the recently launched Air Max Dn and the all-new Air Max Portal, a women’s exclusive set to debut in Fall 2024.
Designed specifically for women, the Air Max Portal boasts a thicker midsole with visible Air Max units at the heel. The upper features sporty mesh and synthetic leather mudguards that wrap around the shoe and extend up the heel. The smaller Swoosh branding on the mid-foot and tongue is a nod to the logo styles of the late ’90s. The midsole’s unique molding at the forefoot is reminiscent of the soon-to-be-released Air Max Sunder.
Expect the Air Max Portal to hit stores early this fall for $110 per pair. Check out the official images of all three colorways and stay tuned for more first looks at upcoming Nike footwear.
