WNBA All-Star weekend offered another chance for New York Liberty superstar Sabrina Ionescu to showcase her Nike Sabrina 2 signature shoe. However, with an injury sidelining her from the 2021 Olympics, her focus is on bringing home a gold medal before resuming her quest for a championship. This goal is clearly reflected in the latest colorway of her signature shoe, featuring “Metallic Gold” accents.
Currently, this release is expected to be available in Grade School sizes only. Despite this, the shoe boasts a sophisticated design. The mudguard, eyestay panel, tongue, and large sections of the heel are all in jet black, creating a striking and unconventional look.
The synthetic mesh on the quarter panels, in sheer white, highlights the FlyWire anchoring technology, drawing comparisons to the Nike Kobe 5. Gold accents on the medial and lateral Swooshes, as well as the tongue tag, add a touch of elegance, enhancing the overall monochromatic theme.
The Nike Sabrina 2 “Metallic Gold” is anticipated to drop in the coming weeks, priced at $100, consistent with previous releases. Only grade school/big kids sizes are expected for this colorway. Check out the gallery below for official images if you’re planning to grab a pair.
